Eileen was born Dec. 29, 1949, in Port Jefferson, N.Y., to Mary (Creighton) and Arthur J. Grattan.
On Oct. 19, 1969, she married the love of her life, Nicholas A. Methven, at Sacred Heart Church in Cutchogue and together they had three children.
She is survived by her husband; children, Nicholas, of Pittstown, N.J., Christopher, of Mattituck, and Suzanne, of Eastport; grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Olivia, Kelly and Nicholas; and siblings, Christopher, of Riverhead, MaryJane, of Calverton, Colin, of Riverhead, and Elizabeth, of Calverton.
Visitors will be received Tuesday, May 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, officiated by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
