Parque Eduardo VII is a 64-acre public park located on a gentle hill behind or northwest of the Marquês de Pombal roundabout at the north end of Avenida da Liberdade.
The park is open 24 hours per day.

Parque Eduardo VII is named after the United Kingdom‘s King Edward VII who visited Lisbon in 1903 to strengthen the treaty between England and Portugal.
Prior to his visit, the park was known as Parque da Liberdade.
The central feature of the park is a manicured labyrinth of bushes and a 100 m long cobblestone Portuguese pavement which divides the park into two zones.
There is an events center in the park, dedicated to Carlos Lopes, the Portuguese athlete who won the marathon in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Originally, the building was built for the 1922-1923 Expo in Rio de Janeiro.
The park offers ponds, a children’s playground, a restaurant, kiosks to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine, exercise equipment, and picnic space.
At the higher northern end of the park, there is a scenic viewpoint that provides views of the park and Lisbon all the way down to the river.
The park is also home to the largest national flag in Portugal.
Greenhouses in Parque Eduardo VII
There are three popular greenhouses or estufas in the park.
Estufa Fria (The Cold Greenhouse) is a 3.7-acre greenhouse garden.
It features cascades, sculptures, plants from all over the world.
There is the Estufa Quente (Hot Greenhouse), and the Estufa Doce (Sweet Greenhouse)
The estufas are open every day from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Christmas Market
Monday – Thursday: noon – 8 pm
Friday – Sunday: 10 am – 10 pm

Lisbon Book Fair (Feira de Livro de Lisboa)
End of August, beginning of September. Free admission.
The fair, which has been held since the 1930s, features authors reading and signing autographs, rare and antique, new and used books, mostly in Portuguese but with a few vendors selling books in English.

A collection of more than 5000 pieces of eastern and western art that belonged to Armenian oil engineer Calouste Gulbenkian.

Marquês de Pombal Square
A 36 m statue and roundabout dedicated to the military leader who was tasked with rebuilding Lisbon after the 1755 earthquake destroyed the city.
Avenida da Liberdade

Restauradores Square
A large, busy public square with restaurants such as the Hard Rock Café.
Also nearby, you will find the Ascensor da Glória, a funicular or streetcar that makes the steep trip up the hill to the Bairro Alto neighborhood and the São Pedro de Alcântara scenic viewpoint.
