We have 5 nights in Tokyo in mid September, and have booked accommodation near the Tsukiji Market. I am wondering how the transport around to other areas is?
Should we look at another area with better public transport options, or is this okay.
We will be doing the usual, Shinjuku, Ginza, Shibuya, etc.

142 helpful votes IMO = Tsukiji is very quiet at night and not that convenient to the rest of Tokyo.

57 helpful votes Stayed close to Tsukiji market for a week last month. No problem getting to various spots in Tokyo.
It is quiet at night. Like most areas that are not close to a major station on the Yamanote or Chuo line.
Used to stay in Shinjuku, many dozen times. Now I prefer to stay near Ginza.
Shinjuku sounds convenient with many subway lines. But it could be a 15 minute walk getting to the line you want.

It is quite easy to get to other areas if you can easily walk to Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.
Shintomicho side is a little less convenient.

Was staying at Section L, but found a good deal at Hotel b Ginza.
Smaller I know, but seems to be a better location to stations, izakayas, etc.
