Some bright spells at first on Sunday but mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain in the Dublin area from around midday onwards. Top temperatures of 13 to 15 Celsius in moderate west to northwest breezes.

National Outlook

Overview: Plenty of dry weather about early in the week. Turning more unsettled later.

Sunday night: Any patchy rain in the south will clear on Sunday night to leave most of the country dry with varying amounts of cloud. Lowest temperatures generally ranging from 5 to 8 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.

Monday: It looks set to be a bright day on Monday with long sunny spells. There'll just be a few showers pushing south on a moderate northwesterly breeze. Maximum temperatures will range from 14 to 18 degrees, warmest in the south. Mostly dry and clear on Monday night apart from a few isolated showers in Connacht and Ulster. A fairly cool night with lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with just light northwest winds.

Tuesday: A sunny start is expected on Tuesday but cloud will build up during the course of the day and a few showers will develop. Maximum temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in moderate northerly winds. Tuesday night will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. There is just the chance of one or two isolated showers in the north. Minimum temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees in light and variable winds.

Wednesday: It looks set to be dry for much of the day on Wednesday with sunny spells and just isolated showers. However, it will turn overcast in the west by evening and rain will arrive along the Atlantic seaboard before sunset. Outbreaks of rain will spread across the country on Wednesday night and it will turn breezy. Maximum temperatures generally ranging from 13 to 16 degrees.

Thursday: It is expected to be a cloudy and rather windy day on Thursday with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent in the south. Maximum temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty south or southeast winds.
