Brooke Shields And Her Daughter Just Got Sweet Matching Tattoos

If I got a new tattoo for Mother's Day, I know my mom would not be too happy about it. How Brooke Shields would react, however, is another story. The model got inked over the weekend with her daughter, Henchy Grier, to celebrate Mother's Day with matching designs. And, yes, the story is just as sweet as it sounds.

On May 12, Shields posted a sweet slideshow on Instagram debuting her new tattoo with the caption "Matching tattoos with both of my girls. There’s nothing like being a mama." The second photo shows Shields and Grier smiling on either side of their tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, who said in an Instagram post that meeting with them both "pulled on [his] parental heartstrings."

To get their tattoos the two kept things cozy. Shields wore high-waisted jeans and a graphic T-shirt, whereas Grier opted for a pastel pink cardigan layered over a tank top with jeans. Their glam followed suit, both opting for a swipe of mascara and a dab of pink blush.

According to Campbell, the duo met him with their design already in mind. Shield's third slide shows a close-up of the tattoo—it illustrates two pairs of stilettos, one that shows the feet inside the shoe on its tip-toes trying to fit (like a daughter trying on a mother's shoe), and the other confidently standing in the high heels.

It's not the first time the fashion legend has gotten a matching tattoo with one of her daughters. Shields' first post on the slideshow is a photo of her and her oldest daughter, Rowan, dressed up on the red carpet for the film Mother of the Bride. Both are wearing red dresses and pointing to their matching tattoos on their wrists and ankles—a tiny little ladybug.

Shields and her family are setting the bar high for Mother's Day gifts. For my mom and I, I think some nice flowers and a candle will just have to do.
