The following items were taken from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

LAKE FOREST

DUI

Jake Schultz, 27, of the 800 block of W. Windsor Avenue, Chicago, was charged Jan. 6 with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of cannabis by a driver after he was located on Route 41 asleep in his vehicle. He was released on bond and has a scheduled court date of Jan. 27.

Edwin Mendez-Meraz, 28, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was charged Jan. 9 with felony charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a suspended license for previous DUIs. He was also charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, all following a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay and Cherokee roads. He has a Feb. 17 scheduled court date.

Capri L. Allen, 23, of the first block of Prairie View Court, North Chicago, was charged Jan. 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after she was stopped on Route 41. She was released on bond and has a scheduled court date of Feb. 3.

WARRANT ARREST

Michael Bovastro, 46, of the 500 block of W. 104th Place, Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested Jan. 14 on an outstanding Wisconsin warrant for battery and disorderly conduct after he was seen walking on the roadway of Old Elm Road. He was taken to Lake County jail with no further information available.

LAKE BLUFF

DUI

Sheena L. Angeloff, 34, of the 1500 block of N. Jefferson St., Milwaukee, was charged Jan. 10 with driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage, driving without insurance and attempted to flee and elude police after an incident near the intersection of E. Washington Avenue and Sheridan Road. She was released on bond and has a scheduled court date of Feb. 10. Additional charges are pending.

THEFT

Two containers of soap were reported stolen Jan. 20 from a business on the 900 block of North Shore Drive. They had a total estimated value of $40.

AUTO BURGLARY

A wallet with credit cards and $10 in cash was reported stolen Jan. 10 from an unspecified, unlocked vehicle parked in the 700 block of Rockland Avenue.

A backpack was reported stolen Jan. 10 from an unlocked 2006 Toyota Avalon parked on the 300 block of W. Sheridan Place. Officers later responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 600 block of Rockland Avenue with the driver fleeing the scene, and the backpack was then discovered at that location.
