Rating 4.14 out of 5 140 reviews
The best parts of my experience were the after school clubs and the teachers in my classes. The clubs helped me to make friends and to be more involved in my school and community. My teachers would encourage me to always do my best and to never stop trying to do better. The worst parts of my experience were the homework assignments and going through the hallways to get to my classes. I would always have a lot of work to do for nearly all my classes. Whenever the bell ringed, the hallways would be so crowded that I would show up to class late by a few minutes. I would like to see change in how homework should be used. Homework should only be given to students who are misbehaving in class or as extra credit to help boost students' grades.
Brentwood schools have made me who I am today. Despite all the stereotypes and bad reputations Brentwood developed decades ago, Brentwood is one of the most connected and lively school districts on Long Island. The teachers and staff in Brentwood Schools are dedicated and understanding towards their student body. Even with a senior class of nearly one thousand students, the staff use their resources and humanity to connect with and prepare students for their next chapter. The students are also very supportive and welcoming of each other. Whether it would be in academics, sports, theater, and other extracurriculars, students learn and grow together to better not only themselves but better the programs they participate in. The crowd however, is sometimes too much to bear. With a student body of grades 10 to 12 amounting to 5000 students, it becomes increasingly difficult to navigate certain areas of the school building or find unoccupied facilities.
I am currently a graduating senior, Brentwood School district is really one of its kind. From the involvement from parents and teacher, to the phenomenal extracurriculars. It really changes someone's perspective on a lot of things since everyone has different backgrounds. You learn a lot not just in the classroom but outside of it as well.
