this belongs on tubi with the rest of the n***a films… how did this script make it past getting printed?
A scattered mess with several fun moments that don’t mesh together. Disappointing because many of the stars, like Teyana Taylor, Luenell, Lil Kim—heck, even Nick Cannon—are more talented than this movie can show.
I know those Cannon kids have to eat but there has to be other ways to push product than shit like this
Christmas in July 2022 - Movie #14 🩱🏖🎄
When this movie started I thought it was gonna be a spoof on all things music biz and reality shows, but nope. Instead we get a drama about redemption and God. That's completely fine, but I found all the comedy, drama, hand wringing, and musical numbers all over the place. Tonally this movie was everywhere and anywhere. One minute it's slapstick, the next hardcore melodrama. It doesn't particularly look good, the acting isn't great, and the music was so so. They definitely had a vision for this movie, but in the end they didn't pull it off. The best parts of this film were the scenes with Marsha Williams and Luenell, they delivered the dry wit and burns like nobody else. There's promise in this movie somewhere, but it didn't fully land for me.
Was really really eye opening about the meaning of Christmas and the importance of family and faith. While the shots weren’t anything to write home about the message and comedic timing of this project was fantastic. While the cameos this was filled with was refreshing.
