I transferred from the rival school, Cypress High. It was one of the best choices I have made in my educational career, Kennedy had so many resources for me despite being part of the Independent Studies program. The teachers I had were passionate about the topics they were teaching and were interested in elaborating about certain topics that were not part of assignments. I felt incredibly supported both academically and emotionally during my term at Kennedy compared to Cypress and teachers had encouraged me to join extracurriculars. My teachers took the time to check up on me during my studies, support and give me valuable advice I am still using while in college.
I think that this is a great school overall. There are many different AP classes and IB classes offered to help further your learning in this school. As far as the staff members and faculty, there are little to no issues. Everyone is very supportive of the students and and there are many great resources to help them. The only issue is the counseling. Although they are very helpful, there is not much support given to the students when needed.
John F. Kennedy High School is a wonderful school that I have attended the last four years. My school was the first school named after President Kennedy after he was assassinated. JFK High School offers many resources, such as tutoring, psychologists, and clubs. I enjoy utilizing all they have to offer and am currently the team captain of the varsity tennis, cross country, and track team with a 4.40 GPA. One thing that I would like to see change at my school is the students themselves. Many view our school as a run-down facility, but Kennedy is thriving. We offer more electives and career pathways than almost any school, offer support, and have the best teachers in the district. The reason why the students’ experiences may be so poor is because they don’t use as many resources from the school that they should. If there was a way to spread information about our school’s programs more effectively, I believe that our school could be appreciated by all.
The best experiences that I have during high school at John F. Kennedy High is the V.A.P.A, English, and language classes. I may feel a little biased, but I really enjoyed these classes compared to the other courses like history and math. With VAPA, I enjoyed Broadcast Media and Journalism. With language, I really enjoyed Korean. Although I only finished 3 years, I really enjoyed the class and the teacher (Mrs. Lee) was really great. When talking about English, it was the teachers that made it the most enjoyable. I had the joy of having English teachers who are fun while still focused on English. I could say that the way my English teachers taught me, made me really like English than other subjects. Now to explain one of my worst experience at Kennedy. I feel like some teachers end up having favorite students, and the teachers can be a little biased at times. There is nothing wrong with having favorites, but I believe every person should be treated the same way academic wise.
I have really loved my experience at Kennedy. I have spent the majority of my high school career in VAPA programs as they have strengthened since coming back from the pandemic. The culture and community in programs like choir, theatre, and ASB are strong. But once you exit those communities many circles of the school have little motivation or strong school spirit. Our academics are great as we are the only school in our district that offers an IB program. But we have also incredible teachers who are prodigies in their prospect fields students have the opportunity to be taught by
My experience so far as a freshman at John F. Kennedy High School has been great. I'm already involved in sports which have been very fun from not only playing sports but also hanging out with new friends. These memories of playing high school sports I will remember for the rest of my life. This school based on my time here for the past couple of months also shows great examples of balancing education with fun activities. There are many things to do for fun here such as sports, clubs, and dances. The education side of the school is also fantastic. Very supportive teachers that teach the material well and help students who are struggling with the material. They have a really good IB program that prepares you for college excellently which I anticipate doing my junior and senior year. By doing this program (which is one of the 120 in the state of CA) you can already have the same credits as a freshman in college as a sophomore would have after 1 year. So overall Kennedy is a great school.
I love Kennedy. When I was an incoming Freshman, I did not have many friends because I was a transfer. However, Kennedy's friendly and welcoming environment made me make friends quickly. I made the baseball team and am currently on the JV level. I look forward to class every day because of my friendly teachers and later practicing with my teammates and friends.
The school that I currently attend, John F. Kennedy High School, has its pros and cons. The positive side of going includes being part of a welcoming community. Most teachers set the standard of letting the students know of certain deadlines, projects, and assignments that are due for a specific class. The teachers are pretty understanding when it comes to stressful situations if a student is feeling overwhelmed and pressured. On the other hand, a worst part of my experience would be the lunch lines that get too long, and traffic in the parking lots that are not monitored at times. I would like to see some changes at Kennedy such as more mental health awareness in a case where we can all have time to reflect on ourselves, more separated lunch lines that can reduce the amount of people in one area, and at least one person to direct traffic in the parking lot.
I love the consistent support from faculty members like the counselors, principals, and various teachers. My favorite experiences were created at some of our school events, from dances to day-to-day lunches. However, here at Kennedy, there was a lack of school spirit among the students and not enough funding to have many projects available. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the school, along with the memories and lessons that will be remembered throughout my educational and personal journey.
I went to John F. Kennedy for 4 years and there’s a lot of help if you need it, the teachers are nice depending on who you get. One teacher I didn’t like was Ms. Panella she assigned a lot of work and I hated the way she taught. A change I would like to see is the bathrooms being more taken care of.
I think Kennedy is a great school for students who are interested in taking part in academically rigorous coursework and who are willing to push themselves by taking the hardest classes. This includes honors and AP classes as well as the IB diploma program in 11th and 12th grade. Recently though I feel like a lot more of the kids have been getting in trouble with a lot more fights breaking out, problems with drugs and whatnot. I’d still argue it’s a pretty safe school, especially in comparison to other schools in the area, but it has its own problems. The school definitely needs to improve on fixing these problems in new, unconventional ways. Overall though, it’s a great school with teachers and staff that are generally concerned with the success and safety of the students, and a strong student body that is empowered to become more involved in their education.
I attended John F. Kennedy high school as a student enrolled in Polaris Independant Studies. My coordinating teacher was amazing, and I was able to receive my education in an overwhelmingly positive environment. Overall, I was very impressed with the curriculum, along with my overall experience.
This high school is a great school as it makes every student feel welcomed. In each heritage month, they hang up posters and spread fun facts about that specific culture. They also hold assemblies which motivates each student to continue to work hard.
It is a great and fun experience so far and I am very excited for my senior year. All of the school events are very fun as well and they are also very appropriate so it is a safe environment for everyone.
The school is one of the best in the district in terms of band and academics, but not in terms of most sports.
Some things I like about my school is that it is a safe community, it is diverse and welcoming. Majority of the staff on my campus are amazing. The sports are very well trained. The extra curricular activities are great as well. The students on campus are mature, welcoming, as well as studious. Of course there are some not well behaved kids, but majority are respectful and good listeners.
I'm currently a senior in which the past few years were interesting. But overall most teachers are down to earth, facilities do need some work in the act of cleanliness, diversity in classrooms is pretty good, and overall collaboration in school is very alive.
