Alan Manson Obituary

MANSON-Alan. Longtime actor of stage, screen and television, died on Tuesday, March 5, at the age of 83. He was the husband of Corey Rose Lang and former husband of actress and author Catherine Gabrielson, and the brother of Arthur Manson. Alan Manson is also survived by stepdaughter Deirdre Dickinson, and three stepgrandchildren. Highlights of his onstage Broadway career include the WWII hit, Irving Berlin's ``This is the Army,'' Paddy Chayefsky's ``The Tenth Man and Gideon,'' Neil Simon's ``Broadway Bound,'' Rogers and Hammerstein's Musical ``Allegro,'' and the role of Zigfeld with Barbara Streisand in ``Funny Girl.'' Alan made his Broadway debut in Maxwell Anderson's ``Journey to Jerusalem'' in 1940. His films include Francis Ford Coppola's ``The Rain People,'' ``Bang The Drum Slowly'' with Robert DeNiro, Oliver Stone's ``The Doors,'' and ``The Devil's Advocate'' with Al Pacino. His many TV guest appearances include ``Law and Order,'' ``Three's Company,'' ``The Rockford Files,'' ``Kojak,'' ``Charlie's Angels,'' Maude,'' ``The Mary Tyler Moore Show,'' and ``M.A.S.H.'' He was a member of Actor's Equity, the Screen Actor's Guild, AFTRA and AMPAS. The family will receive guests at 11:30 AM, at The Williams Funeral Home in East Hampton on Friday, March 8. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, followed by interment at The Green River Cemetery in Springs.
