It only takes around 20 minutes to stroll from one end of Oxford High Street to the other. It's well worth it. In between the retail and independent shops there are several of the university buildings, with incredible architecture.

A wide street with plenty of retail therapy on both sides as well as some stunning medieval architecture in some parts.

A busy area, with one of the main shopping streets in Oxford. Lots of tourists, and sightseers. Well worth a visit, if your in Oxford.

Most expensive parking outside of London
Absolutely extortionate
Bus lanes everywhere unclear to visitors
Park and ride if you have to go there and avoid driving in town centre at all costs.
Won’t be visiting again.

This was our second visit to Oxford. Our first visit had been two years previously and we were only in Oxford for a few hours. This time we were staying there for a couple of days.
Therefore, we had the opportunity to stroll along busy High Street several times. On each occasion the roadway was full of cars, delivery vehicles, cars, taxis, tour coaches and local buses.
This main street is home to a number of the university colleges and the architecture of their historic buildings is just stunning. There are also important public buildings and other university institutions dotted along the street. The street is also home to a host of specialty shops, souvenir stores, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
High Street is the busiest and most significant thoroughfare in Oxford. It is a “must-visit” street for any tourist spending time in Oxford!
