Kunsthaus Zürich houses one of the greatest art collections in Switzerland, featuring art from the 13th century to the present, which it shares through attractive exhibitions.
The institution’s internationally renowned positions include the largest collection of Munch paintings outside of Norway and the most comprehensive collection of works by Alberto Giacometti.
Additional highlights include Impressionist and classic Modernist paintings by artists such as Monet, Picasso and Chagall, as well as works by Expressionists like Kokoschka, Beckmann and Corinth.
Alongside Pop Art works by both Warhol and Hamilton are works by artists including Rothko, Twombly, Beuys and Baselitz.
The Kunsthaus Zürich also houses medieval paintings and sculptures, paintings of the Dutch and Italian Baroque (Rembrandt, Domenichino), and Swiss paintings of the 19th and 20th centuries, including those by Fuseli, Segantini, Hodler and Vallotton, and the Zurich Art Concrete, represented by artists such as Bill, Glarus and Loewensberg.
The extension of David Chipperfield Architects showcases the important collections Bührle, Merzbacher and Looser from October 2021 on.
