Garden Grove High School is an exceptional high school for students to attend. There are many academic opportunities for those who may be financially challenged, and it is easy to make friends because of the sheer diversity present in the student culture.
Since attending Garden Grove High School, my peers have taught me all types of different cultural views. Garden Grove high school runs on diversity, this opens up new perspectives and acceptance by others.
Garden Grove High School is a very good school, having many quality teachers. There are a wide variety of AP classes, allowing students to challenge themselves in harder subjects. Even though the campus could be better looking, it is a great school to attend.
My school is an okay school. The staff is nice for the most part but there are some rude teachers and staff. They don't discipline students to be good people. The lunch is rarely good and some rules are unnecessary. The best thing about my school are the good teachers that do exist who push me and make me feel proud of my accomplishments. The worst part is the school physically like when it rains there's no drain holes and everyone is just forced to submerge their feet in water in order to get to class.
I had a lot of fun with many of my classes and they have helped prepare me and get accepted into cal poly pomona
Garden Grove High School has some of the best teachers in the district. The teachers I've had over the years have all cared about their students' success: putting in extra work even when they are not required to. Though most of the coursework is rigorous, the teachers help students prepare for AP exams and I've never walked into an AP exam feeling like I was going to fail. Aside from academics, the school is overall not that clean but the food is alright.
HIgh school was ok. It wasn't bad kinda good and kinda bad.
The best part of school is the different types of clubs that can be created. Most of the teachers are great at teaching and overall pretty fun. Each have a different way to help or provide resources for students. However, some of the downsides are its cleanliness, but it's mainly due to the students. Another downside is the distance to some classes and overcrowding of hallways.
School is mostly excellent. I love almost all of my teachers. However, I am kind of sad that our school doesn't offer more languages.
Garden Grove is a decent school. Compared to other schools in the district, there's definetly others that arent taken care of as well as Grove does. My best experience would probably, just in general, attending and taking classes that arent offered anywhere else in Garden Grove Unified School District, like criminal justice. If it weren't for me taking that class, i wouldn't have found the passion for criminal justice, so it definetly was life changing. My worst experience would probably be that i missed about 2 years at Grove, due to COVID, but that's nothing that anyone could've done to stop it but i wouldve loved to see how my freshman year would've played out at Garden Grove.
Even though I only went here for my last two years of high school, it truly changed my perspective on life. Once upon a time I was a scared and lonely teenager. But the community and people you meet in garden grove high school are some of the most kindest people I’ve ever met. I remember breaking down by the pool at lunch and a nice lunch lady genuinely checked in on me without being too pushy. I remember the times where I’d go to the choir room and listen to the student led band 412 ave play their songs. I remember a classmate making up a handshake with me just for the heck of it. Cheesy as it sounds, coming out of high school I’ve really come to understand the value of community, friendship, active support, and living each day doing what you love. There are endless more moments I could mention, but I think these small ones are enough to get a glimpse of what being a gghs student ensues. For what could change.. the viet program could teach student more useful vocabulary and grammar.
Garden Grove High School is an amazing place for education, making friends, as well as learning cooperation and teamwork. One likeable thing about Garden Grove High School is the environment that it provides, it is an outdoor school which means you get fresh air every period. Personally, I like having an outdoor school as I find it less restricting and refreshing because of the morning air. One thing I dislike about the school is the food that they serve, I feel like some of the food options aren't fresh enough or healthy for students. There should be more healthy options such as the yogurt and salads that are being provided. One thing that I would change about the school is the menu that they have and perhaps make it better and healthier for students to enjoy.
As a freshman I had a class with mixed grade levels and I was expecting the atmosphere to be uncomfortable, instead everybody was really welcoming and kind. Most people (students and staff) are really easy to talk to and for the most part friendly. Rarely would you see a fight break out or any bullying. I wish some teachers wouldn’t be so strict. I understand getting to class on time is important however I don’t think it’s necessary to mark people late if a student stepped into the class on as the bell rings. The lunch and snack lines are always being filled quickly and unless you want to spend most of you lunch in a line you either have to cut or have a class near the cafeteria. It is true in the center of the school there are people with carts with school lunch, however it isn’t as good quality compared to the cafeteria lunch.
Garden Grove High School is filled with diversity. There’s a wide variety of sports and academics to pick from. Majority of the teachers here are some of the best I have ever had. They are extremely hard working and genuinely enjoy doing their job. I’m happy see teacher asking students if they need help and patiently explaining the material to them in multiple ways. Although, the reason I would rate this a four star and not a five star is because there’s many flaws with the way they discipline students. Every year it feels as if the rules get stricter and the fun of high school is stripped away. I agree that we should discipline them if something is done wrong. However, I don’t think it should be that harsh and the students who are actually not doing anything wrong should be punished. Overall, the academics of this school is pretty amazing.
It’s a relatively decent school overall. I haven’t run into much trouble with the staff, I believe they’re overall some relatively decent people. Although, sometimes some odd situations may crop up and the staff try to solve the problem as efficiently as possible which is nice. The greatest problem you’ll most likely encounter there is just the school culture. No one really participates in what the Student Board offers, since it’s generally just boring. Although I do see the student board attempt activities that seem fun, it just seems to me that either the state or school district is limiting their actions. So overall it seems quite saddening that people with a great motive to improve the school culture are limited by what they can and cannot do.
I liked the diversity in my school. People were very friends but it is a very aggressive school at the same time. Teachers turn away during important events. They only step in during fights. They added a new bathroom system but don't speak up on assault.
This school tries its best to accommodate everyone. There are lots of support and resources for students to reach out for. They are on it with college season and most teachers care about their students.
