Good Print and Sound.
Ann Rutherford's debut film and she comes off well as girl-next-door Joan, daughter of gambling addict Captain O'Brien played by J. Farrell MacDonald. Frank Albertson is the believably good-humored male lead, Ronny Hillyer aka Bill. Grant Withers is Capt. O'Brien's first mate, Tod, and Joan O'Brien's assumed groom-to-be. Gorgeous Barbara Pepper is nightclub singer Gloria Vance. Charles C. Wilson is Ronny's stand-up boss. Jack La Rue has a bit part in the opening scenes as does Ward Bond in the end. There is even something for that perennial Swede, Victor Potel.
Excellent writing, acting and great, great waterfront sets.

Subject: Well done..
A bit corny at times, but well done and very enjoyable. Mostly predictable like guy gets girl and the big bully, though doing the right thing still gets the shaft in the end for being a bully and big boss gets nabbed then confesses to save the good guys skin.. All's well that ends well. To bad life isn't really this simple.

Two men become partners, one is facing a murder rap and the other helps in the cover up.
Most of the movie takes place showing what happens to the second guy while he's incognito.
It had a good story that was well-acted by well-developed characters. It was quick-moving and action-packed. It held my interest and was very enjoyable.
