Legendary actor and comedian Damon Wayans will team up with his son, Damon Wayans Jr. for a new sitcom that promises to bring a hilarious twist to the traditional father-song dynamic.

The new series entitled “Poppa’s House” will follow legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” (Wayans) as he contends with changes in his world such as a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) who forces him to view things much differently than he’s used to with his adult son (Wayans Jr.) still living at home while working to better himself and be a good husband and father.

With executive producer Kevin Hench (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Man Standing”) at the helm, the series will tackle themes that most viewers will be able to relate to including career goals, family, love, and relationships – but with that classic Wayans humor thrown in the mix.

Rounding out the cast will be Tetona Jackson (“Good Trouble,” “Home Economics”) and twelve-year-old Ayla Rae Neal as Maya.

“Poppa’s House” is scheduled to premiere this fall on CBS and is slotted to follow “The Neighborhood” on Monday nights.
