Arbroath have announced a pre-contract agreement to sign Airdrie striker Calum Gallagher on a two-year deal this summer.

The 29-year-old was a revelation for the Diamonds last season, scoring 23 goals in 45 games, earning him multiple Player of the Year awards as Airdrie made the step-up from League One to the Championship.

Gallagher hasn‘t hit those heights this season, with nine goals in 43 games, and most of his recent appearances coming from the bench.

However, he has still been a key player for the Diamonds this season and fans will be sad to see him leave, with 69 goals in 189 appearances so far.

Gallagher was a product of the Rangers Academy before moving on to St Mirren and Dumbarton, signing for Airdrie in June 2019.

Arbroath were last weekend relegated from the Championship, and boss Jim McIntyre has started rebuilding work early.

The Diamonds, meanwhile, are aiming for a play-off promotion to the Premiership.
