Having failed to hit it off on the flight from London, single holidaymakers Clive Morton and Humphrey 'Humpy' Miller arrive at the same Swiss alpine hotel, and both immediately fall for a beautiful blonde who is tearing up the slopes.

Checking in, it soon becomes apparent that the blonde is Mary, daughter of their hotel's proprietor - and already very much in the sights of an arrogant Greek, Gaston Nikopopoulos. She spends her days on the slopes, often tutoring beginners like Humphrey, and her evenings singing in the hotel's restaurant and bar.

However, no sooner have they started to try catching Mary's eye than both Clive and Humphrey come down with chicken pox, and are banished by her father to an impromptu sick bay in the building's attic! Luckily, one of his next arrivals is regular visitor Miss Cartwright, aiming for a week or two respite from her job as a nanny. She is more than happy to play nurse to the two plucky Brits, and even more so when she and 'Humpy' realise that she was once his nanny!
