Arsenal is a first-person shooter game created by the ROLVe Community based on the Arms Race game mode in the video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The game was featured in the Egg Hunt 2019: Scrambled in Time, 7th Annual Bloxy Awards, RB Battles Season 3, The Hunt: First Edition, and The Classic.

The game was revamped in late 2018, which resulted in a large gain of players and visits. The former version is archived in a game called Arsenal Archived which has now been made private as of March 27th, 2024.

Gameplay[]

Each round, players must get kills or assists and eventually reach 32 kills (or 16 kills if the game modes are not Standard, Gun Rotation, Legacy Competitive, Automatics and Railgun Royale). The 31st kill is with the Golden Gun, and the 32nd (final) kill is with the Golden Knife. The golden knife is a gold version of the player's equipped melee, with the exception of the fisticuffs as they are already gold colored. Once the player with the Golden Knife gets a kill with it (no assists are allowed), the Golden Frying Pan kill sound effect sampled from Team Fortress 2, and the game ends. Both the golden gun and golden knife turn the player that was killed with them into a solid gold statue in the pose they were in when killed.

Every time a player kills another player or gets an assist, their weapon is swapped for a new one, unless the game mode is Gun Rotation or Randomizer. If the player is demoted (resulting from being killed by a knife, committing suicide via various means, or in the past, dying to the Egg Hunt chicken boss), they move down a rank (lose one kill and revert to the previous different weapon), with most of the available announcers showing disappointment or anger at the player for losing a rank. Players can also access the in-game shop which contains cosmetics (skins, cases, taunts, and melee weapons) that may be purchased at any time for B$ (battle bucks), the game's currency, and resets daily. Special versions of all purchasable skins may be created if at least 10 of the same copy of a skin is owned, or randomly obtained from opening skins cases.

Players can also use emotes by pressing G if on PC, or tapping on the emote button on Mobile. If G or the emote button is double-tapped, the player performs the "Default Dance" originally from the show Scrubs, popularized by Fortnite.

Trivia[]

This section is a trivia section. Please relocate any relevant information into other sections of the article.

  • Some of the game's sound effects are sourced from the video game franchise Half-Life and the video game Team Fortress 2. Both games were created with the Source game engine, therefore sounds overlap including with games like Garry's Mod.
  • The blast jumping mechanic that can be done with explosive weapons is borrowed from Team Fortress 2, a method named Rocket jumping.
  • Some of the game's maps are inspired by the Steam games Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Garry's Mod.
  • As with most of ROLVe Community's games, Arsenal has heavy influence from Valve games, however this time it's not directly based on any particular Valve game.
  • On September 30, 2019, the game released an update featuring a crossover with Adopt Me!, adding a new character, Anna, unlocked with the code "ANNA". It is based on one the Anna character from Adopt Me!
  • Earning the "Delivery" badge on the game Work at a Pizza Place gives the player the special Pizza Boy skin.
  • Near the end of September 2019, the game experienced a backdoor breach due to a faked version of a popular plugin. This caused a temporary fake "Admin Commands" gamepass to be added to the game, allowing a few users to purchase it. It was removed a few hours after being added.
    • The users that purchased the fake gamepass were compensated with an exclusive Ban Hammer melee weapon, Admin skin, and two kill effects in-game.
  • The game won 3 Bloxy awards in the 7th Annual Bloxy Awards. Those being: Best Sound Design, Best Game Trailer, and Game of The Year.

  • For April Fools' Day 2020, the thumbnail was changed to be a crude hand-drawn red Delinquent holding a G-17 with a poorly handwritten "ARSENaL" above it and a similarly crude ROLVe logo on an orange background.
  • In April Fools' Day 2021, The purple team was opened to public for a day.
  • On June 12, 2020, Arsenal became the 18th game to surpass 1 billion visits, and the first FPS (first-person shooter) game to surpass 1 billion.
