A big update has been revealed on the second season of Gen V. After a delay to address the passing of actor Chance Perdomo, Season 2 of the spinoff of The Boys has now started filming.

Just ahead of a planned production start for Season 2 of Gen V, Perdomo was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27. It was announced at the time that Gen V would go on hiatus so the cast and crew could process the devastating loss. It was later confirmed that producers would not be recasting Perdomo's role, leading to rewrites for the season to address his character's exit. Now, Season 2 has started filming, as revealed by cast member Derek Luh with a new image shared to Instagram.

The Boys celebrates returning to Prime Video in exactly one month with a new look at Karl Urban and Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the set.

The post includes two images. The first is an image of a trailer door with the name "JORDAN (M)," as Luh plays the male version of Jordan. A second photo reveals the actor standing in a mirror with his Godolkin University jacket, taking a picture of himself to tease his character's return. The caption includes a simple "brb," which means "be right back" in internet slang. One popular comment was left by The Boys star Karen Fukuhara, who wrote, "I need that GOD-U jacket."

Another confirmation that filming on Season 2 has started comes with Luh's co-star, Lizze Broadway, sharing a picture on her Instagram. Broadway similarly posted an image of a cast member's chair with her character's name, Emma Meyer, along with a mirror selfie taken in her trailer. The caption on her post stated, "I missed you [Gen V]."

Clearly, a plan has been figured out concerning the absence of Perdomo. It can be presumed that his character, Andre Anderson, will be written out of the series in some way, given the confirmation that the role will not be recast with another actor. No details have yet been divulged about how the character might be written out.

Gen V Season 2 Will Honor Chance Perdomo

"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory," a previous statement released by the producers of the series announced. "We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season."

The first season of Gen V is streaming on Prime Video, while the second season doesn't yet have a premiere date.
