With the sudden appearance of a lot of upscale, new housing in Revere comes the sudden appearance of some great new restaurants. Dryft met all comments I've seen online, from it's delicious, on-point food and tasty cocktails, to an army of roaming people that, at...first glance, appear to be regulars, but are picking up napkins and running food. Complaints that it runs slow, in terms of getting seated, are correct. We called at 5:50 to ask about 7:15. We were told some people were being seated now, and the timing should work out perfectly, but it was too late to make a reservation. We wound up waiting over half an hour (which is not a big deal for a downtown-like bistro with great food). But, you always feel awkward when the hostesses (apparently they need two?) stringently avoid eye contact, and it appears recognized people are walking in and sitting down. All that aside, I would easily return to Dryft, only with a reservation. I had the special, a tuna over spaghetti in putanesca sauce. It was absolutely delicious, flavorful, not too salty (it's typically a salty dish), with perfectly seared tuna. My friend had the chicken fusilli. He seemed to be completely pleased. We started it off with their Mexican street corn, which was tasty, with pickled onions balancing the creaminess of the sauce, and the cheese. Also nearby, Valsos (on Shirley Ave) has opened (and was terrific), adding to the first of the "new" Revere restaurants, D'Amelia's Off The Boat, which continues to be amazing, friendly, every bit a destination restaurant, and yet, fun for locals, with a nice bar scene. Bravo, Revere, and all these excellent new dining options.More
