      Reviews Martha's Vineyard, often referred to simply as "the Vineyard," is an affluent island off the Massachusetts coast that is a popular destination for summer travelers. This series shows what life on the Vineyard is like for a group of 11 "wash-ashores" -- people who live there only during the summer -- and locals, as they work, live and play together throughout the season. Among the nonresidents featured are charming Luis, whose bad boy persona hides his sensitive soul; opinionated Emily, who wants to find a successful man to take care of her; and shy Taelyr, who wants her summer on the Vineyard to bring her out of her shell. Representing the locals are rebellious Cat, who is torn between exploring life off the Vineyard or staying on the island, and aspiring writer Jackie, who left Los Angeles to be closer to her ailing mother.
