The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel is commended for its hospitable service and prime location near the waterfront, with guests often praising the panoramic views from well-lit rooms. While the comfortable beds and cleanliness receive kudos, some guests have noted that the rooms may feel outdated and experience noise issues. The amenities, including lounge access for elite members, are a highlight, yet the value is questioned due to high parking fees and lounge drink charges.

Just stayed one night for a business/couples trip.
Positives:
The staff was great!
Furniture is nice, and comfortable.
The location was fantasic!
Varierty of great restaurants near by
Easy walking distance to the waterfront/Marina and Stanley Park.
View was AMAZING!

Negatives:
Decor is dated (but still comfortable)
Certainly among of the lowest level of cleaning standards i have seen in a hotel of this calibre for a while: From somene elses "short-and-curleys" (body hairs) on the dirt-steaked bathroom floor, and yellow clumps of something stuck in the toilet bowl, to layered dust in several less conspicuous areas of the room, and dirty finger streaks on the mirrors, I would have seriously considered switching rooms, or even hotels if we had more time.
I cannot help but wonder once again, why so many hotel managers have not yet learned to value and train their cleaning staff more effectively, and/or give them the time to do the job better.. The difference they make in the core comfort (and health), and lasting impression of the guests is significant.. It is an essential component that if far too often neglected.

Whenever we can we try to stay at Marriott hotels because it meets our expectations of cleanliness and usually the price is right. This hotel was well situated just blocks away from the harbourfront and not far from lots of places we wanted to walk to. Due to Covid they can't clean the rooms every day to avoid too much contact but we never had a problem with asking for extra towels, bottled water etc. We went for breakfast several times because trying to get a sit down breakfast at the places that had been recommended to us was a chore in itself since the wait times the first time we went were too much so we gave up and ended up having a delicious breakfast at our own hotel instead. We had paid for the restaurant and parking credits anyways. Self parking was easy and you could take the car out whenever you wanted without having to ask someone to get it for you. Afternoons they put out sweet cold iced tea and either homemade cookies or fruit. The restaurant and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Marriotts are always equipped with computers that you can use for airline check-in and that always comes in handy.

I am doing this 2nd review because of the different circumstances from my first time stay in March 2020. My wife and I did a two night stay in Vancouver because, as we all know travel restrictions have shrunk our travel world. We live in Langley, BC, so this is a short city getaway.
When we came in March, it was just ahead of all the restrictions coming into effect. So the restaurants were open, the Concierge Lounge was open, door men and valet available. This time, no door men, valet, Concierge Lounge, and face masks were required in all public places. The Restaurant had just opened for breakfasts only a couple of weeks earlier. Very sad to see all this happening in the Tourism Business. Vancouver is typically, in the height of the Tourist season, now, with Cruise Ships, Conventions, Tourists, etc. The City now feels like Ghost Town. Very little car traffic, little walking traffic, restaurants closed or very limited hours, with specific rules about seating and staff wearing masks.
Regardless, all this, we all need to re-invent our travel selves, for these current times. Our stay was excellent! Luke, who checked us in, was wonderful with his assistance. Our room on the 31st floor, with a harbour view was spectacular! No room cleaning services but you can request all your needs, such as towels etc, as you need them. For two nights we managed just fine, as we typically, are neat and tidy people. As Platinum members we were able to have our breakfast in the Restaurant. Sad seeing how not busy it is because of all this pandemic. More sad because so many people either don't have a job or hours are severely cut back. The two young people looking after us in the Restaurant were Leah and Rajib. They were wonderful with their cheerfulness, and Customer Service despite the effects of all this affecting them. Just want to say that I now tip a little more for the Service Industry people, because I know their wages are greatly affected. So if you are traveling and able to be extra generous, these people will be much more appreciative.
Prior to our arrival, I called ahead, and spoke with Greg, one time, and then Carlos, another. Both were excellent with their assistance and Customer Service, over the phone. I spoke with Peter, a couple of times, during our short stay, for different questions and assistance. He was also excellent.
Overall, a great stay despite the unusual times. I will be happy to return, again, for a short mini vacation, to Vancouver.
Just as a heads up, The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle can become confused with the Harbourfront Pinnacle, just across the street, It used to be a Holiday Inn, once upon a time. The ratings for this hotel seem concerning to me. Just be careful when you book, that you are, indeed, booking the Marriott Pinnacle. Two different Hotels!

This Marriott is at an Awesome location in Downtown and about a block from then seawall and Canada Place. It has a lot of good restaurants and shops in walking distance and it is easy to rent a bike nearby to ride to Stanley Park.
Parking is expensive ($45/night including taxes) - so do consider that as part of their cost. The lobby is also on the smaller side and was always crowded (which didn’t bother me).
I was travelling with Family and we had Platinum status; so we had a room on the 19th floor where the view looked over buildings but we could see the water from the corner. We also had access to Concierge lounge which is decent with a good view of the waterfront.
The reason In took a star off was primarily due to the bathroom and toileteries. The room is on the smaller side but what one can expect in downtown. The bathroom is clean but dated with no place to even hang a hand towel. The shower stall was quite small primarily because it was separated from the bath tub. They provided a small soap and a tiny body lotion; showever has gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser. However, this was quite stingy and didn’t even smell good. Breakfast at restaurant was good though expensive.
Overall, an excellent location, a good though slightly dated hotel but the bathroom and amenities need an upgrade!

We were displeased to find out we were being charged for extra incidentals that we thought were included in the price quoted upon booking. We booked a pet friendly room and agreed to one booking price, but by the time they added in the pet fee and parking fee we were paying nearly double what we initially booked for. While I understand the charges and am totally fine with paying for these extra things, they were never disclosed - not even at check in - and we didn’t find out about them until we saw the charges on our card afterwards which was a little surprising to say the least. It was also weird to order and tip for room service when we then had to go down to the restaurant to pick it up ourselves, our TV didn’t work and the hot water was finicky.. the location worked well for us but otherwise we weren’t overly pleased with the services or customer care.

Hi 2pups-andus, We are sorry to hear you experienced challenges with your stay and we would have loved to provide you assistance and any clarity needed during your time with us. We advertise the Parking rates and Pet Fees online along with pre-stay guest information. Applicable fees are also noted on the parking pass and signed pet agreement form at time of check-in. Should there have been a breakdown in verbal communication during your check-in or any other time during your stay we do sincerely apologize. We look forward to offering the Showcase Restaurant with full service soon. At this time however, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our guests and associates. Until the current Provincial Health Order's ban on indoor dining is lifted, our dine-in services are on hold and our restaurant is available via a takeout menu to all in-house and external guests. We look forward to an opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with the complete travel experience expected in the near future. Safe travels, Peter B

Goods:

Location of the hotel is excellent. It is in the heart of the downtown.
Food at the restaurant is good especially if you are a Platinum Elite Member or above that can have free breakfast at the restaurant. This is a good plus.
The lobby is beautiful (but the room is a bit dated)
Good Elite member treatment
The check-in staff was good and nice
The room is clean

Cons:

The room is a bit dated
Corner rooms are oddly structured as per the floor plan attached. Not rectangular and in very different shapes.
The curtain cannot fully block the lights. Usually it is okay but in our room the bed is facing the window. That extra light made us wake up early.
The fridge is annoying. It made some noise occasionally and my wife was waked up by this fridge a few times.
We booked a package with 50 dollar dine-in credit however the check-out staff didn't notice that and charge us extra $50 in the beginning. They fixed the bill after I pointed out the him we should have $50 credit. Make sure you checked your bill before paying.

Overall we paid $357 for this stay and I would expect more from the hotel. The minimum they should improve is the room facility (fridge/curtain) that I can have a better sleep during the stay.

We loved our stay at the Marriott Pinnacle! We had a harbour view room and it was amazing to be able to sit in our room, look at the mountains and watch the boats and sea planes in the harbour. It made us not feel guilty about time in the room relaxing! The location was great, we were able to rent e-bikes and bike to stanley park easily. Close to the outdoor activities in North Vancouver. Lots of underground parking was available. We had credits for the restaurant and went there for drinks and breakfast twice. The breakfasts were amazing and our waiter Dwayne was so friendly and helpful, he made our mornings! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Vancouver!

Great place. Excellent location. Very nice bar. Good, not great service.

It rates average for me for a few reasons. The room is very nice. But so are so many rooms these days in Hyatt's, or Marriott's lower priced properties, or Holiday Inn's. The room was small. View was lovely though.

Service at check in was ok. But a few niggles. Parking in the underground parkade is $37.50 a day. Ouch. UNLESS you are a hotel guest! Then it's $40.00. ??? Staff told me I could move my car to a different floor if I wanted to save the $2.50. I did not, but why am I paying a premium for being a hotel guest?

Then, sigh, wifi. Marriott and wifi. Always a frustration at their higher priced properties. The room was booked in my wife's name. She is not a Marriott rewards member. So, would you like wifi? Of course we want wifi. OK! That's will be $8.50 a day unless we can sign you up for the Marriot rewards program.

Really?? Wifi these days is like a toilet that flushes. It's not a luxury. No other chains charge for wifi or hold you hostage with wifi to join their programs.

On the same trip, we stayed at lower range Marriot locations. Free wifi. Of course, free wifi. Stop it Marriott. It's annoying.

Great Marriott pillows, as always.

Hello there, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. So glad to hear you enjoyed the location as we are truly lucky to be in the heart of Coal Harbour and close to many of Vancouver's attractions. We apologize your disappointment in the parking fee and have brought the concern to the attention of our leaders. Unfortunately, the parkade is not owned by us and we are limited to what we can offer in terms of parking rates. We are also sorry to hear regarding your frustration with the Wi-Fi fee as we would love for all our guests to stay connected during their stays. We do however, offer complimentary Wi-Fi in all our public spaces including the lobby and conference spaces. Rest assured your concerns are being audited. Thank you and we hope to see you again in the future!

I recently stayed at the Marriott Pinnacle while in Vancouver for a large conference. I had stayed at this property before but not for many years. I had enjoyed it previously and it did not disappoint.

This hotel was once the star of the Delta chain and has aged a bit under the Marriott banner. The location remains superb with a short two block walk to the waterfront, cruise ship terminal and convention centre. You are also a 3 or 4 block walk from Robson Street and have many high quality restaurant options within a short walk. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The lobby area is open and lively with a very good restaurant and lounge.

What continues to stand out is the service and willingness to “go the extra mile” but their employees. The day I checked it, Vancouver was a frantic place with 4 cruise ships in the city and three more coming in the next day. As well, 3000 people were arriving for a conference. I had an event starting mid afternoon and my room was not available, which was quite understandable with the girls likely turning over close to 100%. However Paulo at Guest Services identified that I needed to change and freshen up and provided access to the Health Club so I could I do so and personally ensure my luggage was stored and looked after.

My second shout out goes to Kyle at the Concierge desk. Due to some change in our plans, I had a very daunting request to see if he could find a place for a group of 20 to have dinner - that same night!! Remember how busy I said the city was?? He took the task in stride, asked a few questions and kept me up to date as he scouted locations that would take on such a group. And he was successful in finding us an amazing place for a group dinner which turned out to be a highlight of the trip.

I wouod not hesitate to stay at the Marriott Pinnacle again. I hope that Paula and Kyle get recognized for their efforts in making my stay extremely enjoyable.

I was attending the Vancouver Fan Expo as an artist and the Marriott Pinnacle was one of the hotels with a special rate for exhibitors. I was happy as a Silver Elite member to be staying at the Marriott.
It's close to everything I would want, within walking distance.
They had a nice bellman at the door to greet me, check in (in person which is what I prefer) was quick, friendly and easy. I had a nice room half way up the hotel.
The rooms are nice. The hotel is round and therefore, the windows reflected the round shape of the room with huge glass from one side to the other letting in lots of light.
The bed was great, the pillows were unusually shaped (long and round) but were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a shower and separate bathtub (I am not a fan of showering in a bath tub, always afraid I might slip) and I appreciated that.
Climate control was easy to operate in the room, but when the heat had to come on the fan was so loud it sometimes woke me up.
It's a great note. I'll happily stay here again...but the fan for the climate control is monstrously loud.
