Everything to Know About the Russo Brothers' New Spy Series 'Citadel'
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden are kicking off a new franchise. The duo star in Citadel, an action-spy thriller series from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and Amazon Studios.
Quantico alum Chopra Jonas and Eternals star Madden play spies whose memories were wiped after the fall of Citadel, an independent global spy agency. Years later, after building new lives while unaware of their past, the two get back into the spy game to try to prevent a new world order from being established.
"You need to remember the past to save the future," Stanley Tucci, who portrays the pair's former Citadel colleague, says in the action-packed trailer.
Citadel is being billed as a "landmark global franchise" with other series already underway in Italy and India. According to Prime Video, "Citadel and its subsequent series traverse the globe with interconnected stories."

When does Citadel premiere?
The first season of the spy-thriller series will premiere on Friday, April 28, 2023.
Will all episodes of Citadel premiere at once?
On the day of the premiere, two episodes will be released, followed by one episode weekly through May 26.

Is there a trailer for Citadel?
Prime Video debuted the official trailer for the series on March 6. One moment shows Madden's character Mason trying to jog Nadia's memory. "Tell me you've never felt like you should be somewhere else. Doing something else. Tell me you've never seen my face before. I was in the train. There was an explosion and I couldn't remember anything, except you," he tells Chopra Jonas' character. "You were a spy like me." Bernard Olick (Tucci) explains that the spy agency Citadel was double crossed by one of their own years ago and now he needs help. The epic first trailer shows Madden and Chopra Jonas in action as spies. Towards the end, the Quantico actress asks Madden, "Are you ready?"...yes Priyanka, we are!

Madden, who is playing an agent in Citadel, has previously appeared in Game of Thrones and the Bodyguard. He made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut playing Ikaris in Eternals.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh

What is Citadel about?
Madden and Chopra Jonas play agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh whose memories were wiped when Citadel fell eight years ago. "Who you were was Citadel, a spy agency loyal to no nation," Tucci's character says in the official trailer. "Eight years ago, we were double-crossed by one of our own."
According to Prime Video, Citadel "was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love."
