Amazon Studios has tapped former Legendary Television and Digital Studios president Nick Pepper as head of studio creative content.

Pepper is charged with helping the studio discover, package and maximize Amazon Studios-owned global IP, talent deals and creative synergies.

The studio’s creative content team will deliver those projects to the Prime Video and IMDb TV development teams, as well as collaborate with other divisions within Amazon to unlock content opportunities.

This department will include creative content executives Amanda Greenblatt and Steve Prinz, who manage Amazon Studios’ first-look and overall deals, as well as Lauren O’Connor, who heads the IP and lit group.

Pepper will report into TV co-heads Vernon Sanders and Albert Cheng, who also serves as COO.

The entertainment industry veteran has held IP- and franchise-building positions across a variety of entertainment companies over the last 20 years.

At Legendary Television and Digital Studios, he oversaw the company’s development of scripted content across multiple platforms including television, digital media and emerging technologies.

Prior to that, he spent eight years at The Mark Gordon Company as head of television. developing series for both streaming and broadcast networks. Earlier in his career, Pepper served as VP of drama for ABC Network.

The news comes a month after Amazon Studios promoted Marc Resteghini to U.S./global head of development and hired veteran entertainment executive Laura Lancaster as head of series.

At that time, the studio stated plans to expand its U.S./global IP and talent management team, with a search underway for a senior executive who would work to scale and deliver more projects for Prime Video, IMDb TV and other content divisions at Amazon.
