Okay, it's a hopping #PhilosophyPhriday but I must take a break for a bit and do some work. I wish you all a great Phriday! Thanks for playing and if I don't make it back stay philosophical!

Hey kids! It's time for #PhilosophyPhriday where cool cats talk big ideas in small bites. Today: utilitarianism is the idea that one should maximize the most happiness for the most people. What's THE ONE thing you would prescribe to maximize happiness, for you or society?

I feel like "working for the man every night and day" doesn't qualify as a "good job in the city." So why the charade?

Okay folks, it's time for me to replace the airtight seal on the #PhilosophyPhriday bag and put it away for next time. Thanks for playing and until we meet again... stay philosophical!

if a child is starving down the street do we owe her food? what about a continent away? we cant help everyone? where do we draw the line? what is enough to give and what is too little? if you have a billion dollars should a decent person keep any of it?

if you saw a small child drowning would you save it if you could? would you risk ruining your clothes? i think most people who consider themselves good would save the child. kind of a no brainer. but what happens when we don't see the suffering?

hey, kids! it's time for jay kogen's #PhilosophyPhriday where thoughtful people consider life's big questions in little bytes. despite the hateful platform we try to be considerate and listen to all points of view. Today: what do those who have owe those who have not?

I’d never seen The Wrong Guy before they showed it last night at @JoinTheDynasty with @DaveSFoley , @JayKogen, Dave Anthony Higgins and motherfucking Joe Flaherty. Insane. That movie is so funny.

If a machine is writing things based on stuff it's pulling from other written documents then who is the writer and who owns what? Will people like me be out of a job? Or will AI become a tool to help writers or other creative people do what they do?

So here is today's question: How are you handling the struggles in front of you? Are you letting them stop you? Are you letting them grow you as a person? Can you step back and see your life as a journey? Or do you get frozen in fear and bitterness?

God/fate doesn't give you anything you can't handle & if you mess it up you'll get a new test soon. I miss Mike. I'd love to see him again but no matter what he's given me alot. He's given me friendship, a Gibson sunburst electric guitar, & a reminder on how to live.

Mike told me once his gift was to be able to take funny Jewish words & translate them to non-Jews. His life struggle is very Jewish too. Jews see the issues presented to you are tests. They are things you must learn to overcome or persevere.

I think, even with Parkinsons, he still considers himself lucky. He has been working through his disease & still living his life. Not everything is pretty or easy but he's here. He's doing it.

The last time I saw him was years ago but he's always stayed w/ me as someone who touched my life. When I saw the movie last night about Michael's struggles what struck me most was he was still the guy I loved. He is not a victim. Not a Saint. Still funny & trying to be himself.

He knew he had talent but he also knew he could have just been a guy in Vancouver selling ketchup flavored potato chips. I never treated Mike like a movie star. He was! But he was also my age & we had more in common from being successful early & trying to make each other laugh.

, my long lost friend, made a movie called "Still" detailing his life and struggle with Parkinsons Disease. I worked with Michael J. Fox almost 30 years ago on a movie. Back then he was funny and charming and completely aware he had hit the lottery.

People throw out the word "genius" all the time. I don't know what people mean. Like I don't understand the definition or concept. But I do like the way the letter "g" looks.
