Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- dhontour2016Staffordshire, UK119 contributionsA fascinating experience walking thru the Tunnels & finding out a little more about the impact on the Island of the German Invasion. The tunnels offer a real insight, are well laid out & the provision of Headsets with Commentary help understanding of the invasion. A great morning's experience & easy to get a bus there from St Helier. Well worth the trip.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ju R7 contributionsWe took the anphibian boat to the island with the friendly crew. The castle is very interesting and so much bigger than you see from land. There is plenty to see and the building work that is taking place at the moment doesn't spoil the visit or a chance to take some great photos. The little cafe is good and plenty of toilets. We spent 3 hours wandering around and listening to the enthusiastic gentleman dressed as a soldier telling us about the history of the castle. Definately worth a visit.Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sheila W1 contributionWe had a great time at to the zoo today. My grandson especially loved the fascinating blue poison dart frogs and watching the antics of the junior gorilla clearly loving life. The bats were a great hit and not an area I would normally visit.
The grounds are looking really attractive and have clearly benefitted from some serious landscaping work. The staff we encountered were clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in their care.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My complaint is regarding the ignorant company who hire deckchairs on the beach called Sunnyside deckchairs. Our friend Monica was with us for the day and hired a sun bed and wind break. At 1pm our friend left the beach for lunch and a trip to st helier, leaving the wind break and sun bed to my wife. Immediately a scantily clad women in a barely appropriate bikini was wafting a card machine in my wife's face demanding further payment of £12 for equipment already hired. To our total astonishment after we pointed out chairs are not hired to ppl she still literally ripped the wind break out of the ground and practically pushed my wife off the sunbed. It is astonishing and regrettable that St Brelade bay has such a parasitic and grasping company on it's beautiful beach.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fatima T76 contributionsWhat a delightful piece of history. It was very windy and cold when we went, which made walking outside quite challenging, but it did not spoil our visit to this enchanting castle. We were lucky to have a tour of the grounds which was very interesting. There was plenty to do for the kids too, the playground, the dress up room and the stocks were a highlight! The views from the top of the castle were stunning. They have an onsite cafe as well if one feels peckish after the walk. We would love to return in better weather.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tracey SJersey, UK1 contributionWe went to the La Mare Vineyards Chateaubriand night. Friendly welcome and swift service. The food was amazing and we struggled to finish it.
Staff were attentive without being pushy, and service was great.
Thank you for a wonderful evening.Written 20 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum itelf is housed in a concrete bunker which formed part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall . The dummies are a little "autonesque" and could do with updating, but this minor gripe is offset by the vast array of genuine WW2 kit and real life accounts of life under the jackboot!Written 13 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Snagglepuss97Trowbridge, UK45 contributionsThis Museum is a little gem. Clean, tidy and packed with loads of automitons. Great for grown up children as well as little ones. Tells the story of the sea, from the basics of sailing to the principles boat building. The Museum also houses the Island Liberation Tapestry, which is worth the entry fee to see on its own. A nice little souviner shop, clean toilets and charming staff, there is nothing to dislike about this attraction.Written 13 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah LNaizin, France91 contributionsVery interesting, the film is informative about the history of the island and the house was interesting to see as well albeit a sad reason for its existence. Pierre on the welcome desk was helpful as well. .Written 28 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- petefeet1975Belfast, UK19 contributionsReally interesting place, not very big but really nice Cafe adds to the experience. The whole plzce took about 90 mins to look round, ghere is an interesting video to watch about the site and how the chamber was un covered. The site is lovely and quiet and there is a few different things to see. The neolifhic cave. The replica stoneage barn. The war tunnels with sgories about the occupation. A museum telling the stofy of the huge hoard of coins discovered by metal detectorists and the medieval church on the hill. Then you can go to the cafe and get some really nice food. I had a huge warm scone with clotted cream. Very nice and highly recommended.Written 21 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gill OAscot, UK653 contributionsNot easy to find but well worth the effort. Head towards Plemont Point.
Fabulous views over the bay but the focus has to be the giant puffin sculptures on the top of the cliff. Amazingly built of willow to highlight the decline in puffins and the efforts being made to amend this. Doesn’t take long but worth it.Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
