Andrew Billen Times (UK) This serial may not have caught the public mood, but there is not a bad performance in it. Rated: 4/5 Jan 3, 2018 Full Review Deborah Ross Daily Mail (UK) It's a hoot and a riot. It's satirical without ever spelling stuff out. And it's been updated with some sly, modern jokes. Rated: 5/5 Aug 31, 2017 Full Review Mark Monahan Daily Telegraph (UK) Waugh is tricky to get right on screen, but there was barely a bum note in this lovingly crafted hour of elegant, acidulous entertainment. One suspects Mr W would have approved. Rated: 4/5 May 19, 2017 Full Review Ben Dowell Radio Times It is a very expensive, beautifully-directed production stuffed with some excellent performances. But I am not sure it works. Sep 13, 2018 Full Review Louis Wise Sunday Times (UK) As a Waugh fan, I was sceptical, but I have to say the cast are doing well so far, and many of the author's lines remain as funny on screen as on the page. Dec 27, 2017 Full Review James Delingpole The Spectator Quite superb. May 19, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Kathy W Entertaining, great actors. Douglas Hodge with his wooden leg, so funny. Stephen Graham, David Suchet and too many to mention. Enjoyed it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Maxens C Very good adaption of the book. The music is sometimes a bit too whimsical and corporate for my liking although the main theme is good. A good satire with emotional depth which shows the range of Jack Whitehall. It's also lovely to see so many stars in this shows and especially Sir David Suchet Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
