Auburndale High School Reviews
Rating 3.29 out of 5 38 reviews
My experience with Auburndale has been, on the whole, very pleasant. To start off, the teachers and staff are very friendly. I find myself enjoying the company of all of them, regardless of the subject. Next, the school itself is very clean. The halls, rooms, and everything in between are near-spotless all the time. Lastly for the positives, the food is shockingly good. Almost every meal is delicious, and seldom skip any.
One major negative is the choice of classes. While the school does have the majority of the core classes that one would need, it lacks a lot of diversity in those fields. Instead of many high level Science of Math classes, we have many Agriculture and Tech Ed classes. While these are good classes, they don't benefit those not thinking of those fields.
The main thing I would like to see change is the lack of challenging core classes. If some of the afformentioned classes were changed to high-level core subjects, it would benefit the students immensely.

My best experience at Auburndale High School is playing sports at their school. I also like most of the staff members at this school. I would like to see change is the handbook and our school board. The school board has members who are 60+ and are outdated. Most of the time they don't really know what is happening in the schools and are making assumptions. The school also never asks for the student's opinions when they are the ones that are supposed to be learning.
I liked the small community. I was able to learn everyone’s name and know them on a personal level. Despite my liking of it being a small community, it is also my disliking. The school should renovate its bathrooms in addition to their choir and band rooms. It revolves around sports and does not give as much recognition to students in the arts (choir, band, art, academics even). Overall, it is a nice place to grow up in but does not provide successes for future developments. They should present more opportunities (classes, sports, clubs) to students.
