IRU DHURUVAM 2

In season 2 of Iru Dhuruvam, Prasanna revealed he plays the role of a psychologist and it was an interesting role for him in this web series directed by Arun Prakash. “Arun is a friend of my brother’s and he suggested that I meet him since he seemed to have an interesting script. When I met Arun, he narrated the script and I thought why not do it? I play a psychologist in this film who can manipulate the minds of people,” Prasanna stated.

Prasanna and Nandha, who headlined season one of Iru Dhuruvam, know each other but this is the first time they are working together.

“Unlike what I’ve seen of Nandha outside, he was quite reserved on set. I think he needed that space to get into the character of Viktor. He and I didn’t have too many scenes together though,” he added.

FORAY INTO HINDI OTT

Prasanna revealed that he was working on a Hindi web series (Viacom) and has completed the shoot for it. Stating he couldn’t disclose too much, he said he would be dubbing for the web series in Hindi himself.

Like Vijay Sethupathi in Farzi, is Prasanna also a South Indian man in this Hindi series? “Yes, I am a South Indian man – and a cop - in this series and the team probably felt I suited the role and approached me. I had a good time filming this series and am now looking forward to dubbing for it,” he said.

The Pa Paandi actor, who has another web series coming out on Sony LIV, is eager to do more roles in Hindi if they are exciting and offer something new for him.

The actor has played a cop in many films and now in web series as well, but he says that he’s not tired of it because every cop role is different. “People see me fit well into the cop role and I can’t say no when the role is good. I am just taking things as they come and willing to explore everything at this point in time,” smiled Prasanna.

SNEHA AND CHRISTOPHER

Prasanna’s wife, actress Sneha, was seen after a gap of four years on the big screen in the Malayalam movie Christopher. Apparently, the actress’ good rapport with director B. Unnikrishnan made her say yes to the film.

When asked what he felt about his wife’s comeback in the Mammootty starrer, Prasanna said, “I would love for her to get back to cinema but it is her choice. Our daughter Aadhyantaa is still small and she’s not comfortable leaving the kids at home and going away for long periods of time on shoots. Right now, she is OK with TV shows because it’s a few days a month and when she’s working, I make sure I’m there with the kids. Maybe after a few years, she might think of doing more films.”
