Karl Malone had one of the greatest careers a player could ever have in the NBA. He was a two-time MVP and 14-time All-Star but just couldn’t get past Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls for that elusive championship.

Since retiring from the NBA after the 2003-04 season, Malone has largely stayed out of the limelight. He spends his time with his wife of more than 30 years, Kay Kinsey.

“The Mailman” married the former Miss Idaho on Dec. 24, 1990. And unlike most celebrities, the Hall of Famer and the former supermodel have survived the test of time. The couple has four children, daughters Kadee, Kylee and Karlee, and son Karl Jr.

Karl Malone and Kay Kinsey first met in 1989 when the Utah Jazz superstar was signing autographs in Salt Lake City. The two would later correspond via letters until they started dating.

Aside from running her own business in Utah, Kay also handles her husband’s various enterprises in Ruston, Louisiana, where they currently live.

Malone has only been married once.

Karl Malone had a son with Gloria Bell when she was only 13 years old

Karl Malone was a 20-year-old sophomore at Louisiana Tech when he impregnated Gloria Bell, who was then 13 years old.

A paternity lawsuit was filed against him by Bell in 1986 but Malone refused to admit or recognize Demetress Bell as his son. Tests reportedly proved that “The Mailman” was the father of the boy.

Gloria Bell asked the court for $200 in child support per week from the NBA multi-millionaire. Malone was ordered to give $125 per week. Incredibly, he claimed he couldn’t afford that amount and eventually reached a confidential settlement with Bell out of court.

Demetress Bell didn’t know who his father was until he dropped out of high school. Fortunately, he managed to work his way into an NFL career as an offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles.

When Bell met Malone for the first time, the basketball star reportedly told his son that it was “too late” to develop a relationship.

Bell and Malone supposedly started speaking to each other in 2014.

To this day, most basketball fans have not forgiven him for what he did to Gloria and Demetress Bell.

Karl Malone also had twins with Bonita Ford

Prior to the Gloria Bell scandal, Karl Malone had kids with high-school sweetheart Bonita Ford. Both were 17 when she got pregnant with twins.

Ford and her kids never heard from Malone once he left to play college ball at Louisiana Tech.

Daryl and Cheryl Ford didn’t know Malone was their father until they were eight when their mother filed a paternity suit. The NBA star refused a DNA test and again reached another out of court settlement.

It wasn’t until 1998 that Malone accepted that he was the father of Ford’s twins and reached out to them.

Cheryl Ford and Karl Malone eventually got close, with the NBA superstar celebrating his daughter’s championship with the Detroit Shock.
