Worst experience ever!!!!!!!! I was supposed to fly from Guatemala City to Dublin via Chicago but the flight was delayed so I missed my connection flight. When we landed in Chicago staff just made the announcement that they do not pay anything (no hotel, no taxi, nothing) due to a delay in weather which is a lie, other passengers said that as well several times, after some time one of the staff, who were fed up and rude as hell said well yeah there were also some technical issues. My flight was 18h later so obviously I wouldn't want to wait that long over night at the airport and had to pay more than 100USD to get to and sleep at the xheapest motel nearby. The staff at the desk ridiculously handed out a flyer with a QR code to a hotel with "reduced rate" and I asked them about it as it didn't work on anyone's phone, after a while they were telling each other that this does not work so i politely replied that this is ridiculous and the staff took this sheet out of my hand and said "this is a courtesy of UA", I started laughing as it didn't work anyway, like thanks for absolutely nothing. At the airport later on for the new flight I learnt that I just had a standby ticket which cost me even more nerves not knowing if I make it home now or in 7 more hours. This is such a joke, in Europe airlines will have to pay expenses for a hotel room, a taxi there and your meal, welcome to the US, a third world country with a gucci belt and 0 consumer rights, badically a legislation just to ef over normal people and benefit cooperations, never again!!!!!…
