A teenage girl tries to save a herd of wild horses from a local gang intending on capturing and selling them for dog meat. Unfortunately the nearest Federal land where the horses will be safe lies one hundred and fifty miles away, over badlands and a mountain range.

Some dickheads steal a bunch of horses to sell them for dog food, but Linda Blair frees them and leads them 150 miles across the badlands and mountain highways, and everyone respects her guts. Very endearing, and delightfully feminist. Like a version of True Grit that doesn't pretend John Wayne is the main character.
Feel good family film with a bit more grit than usual. Linda Blair gives one of her best performances and has good chemistry with the always reliable Richard Crenna.
A mostly sedate western drama about a young woman trying to save a herd of horses from the capitalistic ranchers who want to chop them up for 39 cents a pound. Linda Blair gives a great performance. Co-stars with Michael Wincott in one of his first films.
The longest most drawn out depressing horse getting shot scene. It even upset me.
