Sproton Layer

Psychedelic rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, formed in 1969 by brothers Roger (vocals, bass), Ben (guitar, vocals), and Larry (drums) Miller with Harold Kirchen on trumpet. Sproton Layer was an outgrowth of the Miller brothers' previous band, Freak Trio. All the members were in high school when the band existed. Sproton Layer split in 1970. Ben and Larry Miller went on to join Destroy All Monsters while Roger relocated to Boston and eventually formed Mission Of Burma and went on to release a number of experimental albums solo and with various groups. Sproton Layer went into the studio in 1969 but the recordings were not released until 1991. In the 1990s, the Miller brothers reunited under the banner of M-3.
