Give way for The Rise of Gru. 

After much anticipation, Universal Pictures' Minions: The Rise of Gru is premiering today (1 July) in the US. The animated film follows the origin story of young Gru and his Minions and how they grew up to be one of the most despicable crews the world has seen. 

Set in the 70s, the movie features an array of retro-inspired tracks and covers of timeless classics from the time period. The lead single of Minions: The Rise of Gru, titled 'Turn Up Sunshine' comes as the highly anticipated collaboration between pop icon Diana Ross and psychedelic act Tame Impala.

Produced by the award-winning songwriter-producer Jack Antonoff, the soundtrack also features 'Born To Be Alive' by multi-hyphenate Jackson Wang, 'Dance To The Music' by GRAMMY award-winning act H.E.R., 'Bang Bang' by Hong Kong pop star G.E.M, and more.
