Top 10 Songs by The Animals

With The Animals Eric Burdon, born on May 11, 1941 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, rose to fame during the mid 1960’s. The band, part of the “British Invasion” alongside The Beatles, Rolling Stones and The Who, owned a distinctive sound that defined and became influential throughout the rest of the 1960’s and today are regarded as one of the most influential ever in Rock music. Fronting The Animals was the charismatic Eric Burdon, with his raspy voice, stoned eyes and presence. The band had an amazing run from 1964 to 1968, and despite not losing any of their popularity, decided to go separate ways by then, with Burdon launching his solo career and forming the band War. The Animals reunited again briefly during the mid 1970’s, but the essence of their sound can only be found within those four years, 64-68.
