FROM THE ARCHIVES: The Cape Fear River in Fayetteville and beyond
This "ferryboat" was used to transport Fayetteville citizens along with their horses, mules, and wagons, across the Cape Fear River while the new bridge was being constructed after the disastrous fire of February 3, 1909 totally destroyed the second old Clarendon Bridge.

The 9mm gun invesigators believe was used in the murder was also found.
