changing the fluid on the front forks can anyone tell me the amount that needs to go in each side. don't feel like buying a manual for one task (not my bike)

There are some documents here on HTT that list fluid capacities, torque specs, all kinds of info. Just passing this on for future reference.
If the government gives you everything you want,
it can take everything you have.

2005 FLHR/C/S:
- Using a funnel, pour 11.1 ounces (328 ml) of Harley-Davidson Type E Fork Oil into the fork tube.
- Repeat on other fork.

(All touring models with the exception of Road King have the cartridge type fork on the left side and the conventional type fork on the right. Road King uses the conventional type fork on both sides.)

thanks for the help   now how the f does the nacelle come off  I took the headlight out and see the top bolts but don't know how to take the ignition switch out

the 2 phillips screws are under the plastic plate. pop off the plastic part and you will see which ones.

Yep, plastic ring pops off, ignition stays in place.
