When you are in Lisbon you see Jesus very often. It's quite natural that if you have enough time you want to come closer to see how big is Jesus.
From Lisbon tak a fairy to Almada. Fast, cheap and easy way to get to the other side of river. That you can take a long walk. I love the area of Santuario. Beacuse of wind there was no chance to go upside but views were great anyway.

With the expert help of the front desk staff at the Meraprime Gold Hotel in Lisbon, my wife and I took the ferry across the river and then caught the bus to Caparica, which is a fun beach town. From there we walked to the beaches, which stretch as far as the eye can see. Great day trip from Lisbon!

Big beautiful city park, perfect to catch some fresh air and quietness. You can enjoy yourself there in some many different ways that you can forget you are in a city for a moment. Very clean and well preserved.

Lisbon, a city of enchanting highs and lows, is a tapestry of hills and valleys cascading towards the sea. Just beyond the downtown area, across the bridge, lies a splendid miradouro in Almada. Here, perched atop a plateau, stands the Cristo Rei tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views. From the lofty vantage point of the plateau itself, Lisbon stretches before you in all its glory, a picturesque view that spans both left and right. With or without a trusty pair of binoculars, you can spot intriguing landmarks in the ancient heart of the city. Watching ferries and boats glide across the river adds to the charm. There is no doubt that it is an attractive welcome and satisfying in itself for those that ventured thus far to the climb to the top of the Cristo Rei tower. For the tower itself, there is the occasional queue to ascend, but for the sense of accomplishment, you will feel at the end of it, it's a small price to pay.

If you don't ascend the tower, the experience of the esplanade with those glorious views and dotted with nice sculptures is both delightful and fulfilling, making the visit indeed worth the while.

This the second time visiting this mall. I have three children and of the five of us there are two vegetarians, one of which is extremely fussy. A tremendous food court and all were satisfied.
The shops were great, something for all of us. A great day had by all.

It is worth the view although there is no restaurant or coffee support and the space looks a bit abandoned.

This area is really beautiful. Shady, pine scented walks leading to spectacular views over the beach and ocean below. Several picnic areas with plenty of parking. Find a small path leading to your own spot amongst the flora to relax and breathe in nature at it's finest. Perfection. Well, in April it was. Obviously it will be more populated in the height of Summer but there's plenty of room for all I think.
Walk or drive down to the beach below - Praia da Fonte da Telha - to admire the cliffs. Eat and drink while watching the waves, the birds following the fishing boats and the sunset extraordinaire. An un-developed and majestic part of the coast, well worth a visit.

Queen Beach (Praia da Rainha) is another great beach, from Costa da Caparica area.
The best way to reach this beach is by car (around 5 min from Costa da Caparica), or by bicycle (15min from Costa da Caparica).
The beach offers a large extension of sand, where you can walk from miles, as well as, a great ocean waves, were you can either swim or do surf (be aware that the beach surveillance is available only during summer months).
