A very nice national park sitting in the middle of a very busy urban city 🌳 Saw a lot of people here after lunchtime and people were just strolling around and relaxing 😌😌

The Tokyo government buildings in Shinjuku has two observation decks, south and north decks. This is free and have fabulous views. By comparison with Asakusa sky tree, besides being free, there's no queues.
At night and daily, from sunset to 9:30 pm there's a light show projected on the facade of building number 1. Free and very enjoyable.

We did a 5pm-8pm tour with Agrigto Travel. Giulia was knowledgeable and entertaining about the area where we walked. There were 5 in the group plus guide. The variety, quality and quantity of the three restaurants we visited was good, plus a bar at the end capped a good evening despite the rain.

I'm not a big fan of the observatories, but Tocho does a fantastic night lightup! It's spectacular. So beautiful. It'll take you to another world for a while. It starts at 19:00 and every 30 minutes until 21:00. One show lasts for 15 minutes. The schedule will change in summer, so check it before heading out.

The vibe on the street was fantastic with smell of barbecue and most stalls are full. We walked through the street but did not eat we just ate but it was sooo tempting. Just go visit if you can but plan for a dining. Oh don’t search with google for yakitori alley as it’ll bring you to a restaurant named that.

It's amazing that only about half an hour away from the main bustling, super crowded & super busy Shinjuku city centre where we stayed, one is transported into a totally different world. To a slow paced, laid back , no crowds serene town. From the train station, turn right & stroll along the long but tree lined upslope Kagurazaka-dori St with many intersections in between. On both sides of the street, there are many nice & some famous food/dining outlets, shops & cafes. Prices here are also cheaper. Even during lunchtime, there were no sudden crowds but just some locals going about. Kagurazaka is a small ward in Tokyo but is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Wanted to get the Japanese baseball experience while in Japan. Being a fan of baseball, I wanted to go to one of the older stadiums that Babe Ruth played in. Since the team that plays at Koshien were going to away while we were down in that area, I choose instead to go to a Yakult Swallows game in Meiji Jingu stadium. I was afraid that we would not be able to attend since the remnants of a typhoon were still around in the morning, but by the time we got to the game the sun was shining bright. The good - very easy to get to using the subway/metro from our hotel. I was also surprised by how close to the field we were for the price we paid. The atmosphere was incredible and I loved the cheers and that both teams had their brass bands. The bad - very tiny, crowded together seats that were not very comfortable. My back was killing me and I ended up bailing after the 5th inning. But it was still an incredible experience and one I would recommend.

This is a huge store with Ladies and Mens department seperated in 2 building ( i think) as the escalators are being seperated. It has all the high end stuff in it. The food at the basement was fantastic and had great takeways and bakery shops.

I spent an early evening strolling through just people watching. It’s vibrant and fun. I would beware lots of places taking advantage of tourists, but if you want to walk in a street, try some good food at an affordable price, and just feel a fun vibe, this is a great place to do it.

I was there in autumn when the Gingko festival was held. The Gingko trees are really beautiful but the Gingko festival is rather disappointing with an assortment of fruit trucks and stalls selling touristy stuff.

On my latest trip to Japan, we stayed near Shin-Okubo, and went there twice, to have a lovely korean bulgogi/bbq. I have been to South Korea a few years ago, and really loved it there. Food wise, one of the things I really loved, was the korean bbq, where you grill your meat on a grill on your table, and then wrap it into a salad leave, and may add some ingredients like kimchi, garlic, gochugang, pickled radish etc. What I loved in South Korea, I found here, and that was great.

Beautiful and peaceful shrine in the middle of Shinjuku Tokyo where it can get very hectic and busy. Great place to meditate and reflect.
