There are two ways you can reset your EX7000 to default settings. First by pressing the Factory Reset button and second, by using the web user interface (GUI).
Factory Reset button:
- Look for an object like a pen or a paper clip.
- On the bottom of the EX7000, look for the Factory Reset button.
- Press and hold the reset button using a paper clip or pen and wait for at least 5 seconds or until the Device to Extender LED blinks amber.
- Release the Factory Reset button and wait for the EX7000 to reboot.
- Once rebooted, your EX7000 is back to its factory default settings.
Web GUI:
- Use a computer that is connected to the EX7000 via wired or wireless connection.
Note: The Device to Extender LED lights solid green to indicate that a device is currently connected to the EX7000.
- Open your internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.
- Enter www.mywifiext.net in the address bar of your internet browser.
- On the login page, type your Email and Password and click Log In.
- On the NETGEAR genie page, click Settings then Other Settings.
- Click Reset. Click Yes to proceed.
- Wait for the web user interface to finish resetting the device to factory default settings.
