The 1975 Salem Football team was the most successful in the College’s history. The Tigers won the WVIAC Championship and advanced to the NAIA National playoff where they defeated Ouachita Baptist University of Arkansas 16-7 to win the Eastern Regional Championship. The Tigers went on to the National Championship game where they faced Texas A and I University on December 13, 1975 and suffered the only loss of an outstanding season.

The championship season found the Tigers breaking both school and conference records along the way.

Joe Ault, Larry Blackstone, Harry Hartman and Marvin Williams coached the Team.
