Poor quality of book!
Really disappointed that a brand new book comes with a tear and a bent page in the middle of it! Took so long to come I haven’t time to order a replacement now :(

This book has a beautiful beginning that my daughter has memorised and recites every time we find a pebble on our walks (which is often!). It has also inspired her to start a collection that includes fossils and minerals and she's only five! - It gives a very good overview of the beginning of the world and evolution. Highly recommended.

Quality book. I bought it for my son as he studied it in school for guided reading and going through it, I realized the words used might be a bit too hard for a year 3 pupil. I bought it so we could read it and understand it together. I found it a bit boring, however the vocabulary is substantial.

A great book for the little ones, explaining the time scales of the geological process is not easy (even for adults to comprehend) but this book does a great job of introducing just how much a typical pebble goes through to get to where it is today. Nice artwork and a great narrative.

I'm a trainee teacher and the students on my placement were using this book for power of reading. I found it useful to have and there are lots of activities that can be done. It linked in nicely with Rocks in science. it is a great book to get students thinking.

A fantastic introduction to the to the world about us. Purchased for my eight year old grand daughter. She has been so interested in it and continually asks questions about stones, rock formations and even the gravel on the drive at her home. Great illustration drawings and very well presented

My fifth grade students were bored when I read this book to them. They are very interested in the rock cycle, however, this book presented information that went on forever. I think it would have been better if it could have been more concise.

Unfortunately, I was expecting more of a lyrical story. This is a very dry, factual book. I wish it was something I could really read to my students.
