About Projectors - Walmart.com
What are projector lumens?
Lumens are the measurement of brightness that a projector emits. The higher the lumen count, the brighter the projector’s internal lamp is and the more ambient light it can handle and still produce a quality picture. For projects in a dark room or outside area where there is little ambient light, 1,500 lumens is usually sufficient. If the room has windows or you're in a larger conference room, at least 2,500 is needed. For very large auditoriums, choose a projector with more than 2,500 for the best viewing results.
What is native 1080p?
Native 1080p means the projector accepts a 1080p high-definition signal in, processes it as 1080p, and emits a 1080p image with a 1980x1080 resolution. There is no upscaling to 1080p from native 720p, which results in blurry pixels.
Do I need to buy a high-quality projector screen for the best results?
Yes, the projector screen matters just as much or possibly even more than the projector itself. Buying a low-quality screen can result in light bleeding through the screen, resulting in a dull image. A screen can also help with difficult lighting issues. For example, a gray screen is a good option for a room with a good amount of ambient light, as it can lead to darker blacks, despite the excess light in the room.
