Pelham High School Reviews
Rating 4.28 out of 5 295 reviews
I believe that overall, Pelham High School is a great school and it is certainly one of the best in our area. We have an exceptional band program and a great theatre program as well because our administration heavily values the arts, and because of this our arts programs are some of the best in the state. We have amazing teachers who are passionate about their teaching and they are also some of the nicest teachers I have ever met. The worst part of our school would have to be the food, as there are many days where the food is neither healthy nor appetizing (viewed by the majority of the student body).
Pelham High School in Alabama, while offering a structured environment, faces notable challenges. The school's lack of diversity limits cultural exposure, hindering a broad worldview. Varied teaching quality among educators affects academic consistency, impacting student learning experiences. Unfortunately, the cafeteria's subpar lunch offerings lack nutrition and variety, leaving students dissatisfied. Despite these shortcomings, Pelham High School provides a safe space for learning and offers extracurricular activities for personal growth. However, the school's struggles with diversity, teaching quality, and lunch options warrant consideration for families seeking a more diverse and enriched educational setting.
Pelham High School isn't just a building but a people, and that is made known by the loving attitude provided by our Student Government Association, faculty, and teachers. I haven't gone a day without feeling like there was someone I could go to for guidance or as a remedy to my problems. It is clear that all adults in the school have made it their mission to allow their students to be and feel safe within the school's walls and won't accept anything less. The clubs are diverse and introduce many cultures toward our school, even if it's predominately white; our teachers do their best to inform us of the world we're entering and how to survive in it no matter our future: I couldn't ask for more.
