Richard Michael Arthur, age 71, of Weaverville passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. Richard was born November 5, 1952, in Asheville to the late Malcolm and Kathryn “Kitty” Arthur. He attended Asheville High School and after graduating attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical College for a short time. He then proceeded to work for his father at W.H. Arthur Company for the next 16 years.
Richard loved the outdoors, especially cutting firewood with his twin brother Frank. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends and especially with Kelly, his pet cat. Richard has always shown much love for others and has been loved by many.
Richard is survived by his brother, Frank Arthur; his sister, Myra Buckner (George) of Weaverville; and his nephew, Van Noland (Leslie) of Smithfield, VA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 26, 10am at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville.
