Nestled in a prime spot close to Soho, Little Italy, and Chinatown, the Moxy NYC Lower East Side garners praise for its cleanliness and the service provided by its friendly and professional staff. Despite mixed reviews regarding value due to a $30/day destination fee, guests appreciate the modern amenities and vibrant atmosphere of the hotel. While the chic rooms are celebrated for their views, some guests have called out the limited space and minimalistic design. Moreover, the noise from both the ventilation and the on-site nightclub has been noted as a potential downside for light sleepers.

We always stay at Marriott’s, and can depend on great staff, clean rooms, etc. so we thought we would try the newer version MOXY. well designed and efficient, small rooms great coffee and small café downstairs and a nice bar. Piano bar and Japanese restaurants on location. Very safe and secure. The negative- the smell of weed permeates, the halls and rooms, scratchy wax paper like toilet paper no lotion, towel sets were not fully stocked each day even when I asked. Make sure to request a higher room as sometimes you can hear the band playing downstairs.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lower East Side Moxy. We were in NY to celebrate a special birthday for my wife and the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would like to especially mention Yirma, who really made our trip special. Yirma told us that she would make our room welcoming, and she did. She put colorful balloons through the room and wrote cheerful happy birthday notes on the mirrors to celebrate my wife’s big day. We had no idea what she was going to do so we were not only surprised but touched by her efforts and kindness. Yirma’s thoughtfulness and extra effort was throughly appreciated by us and truly helped make that special day even more memorable. In particular, because of the extra effort that Yrima went to ensure that our stay was perfect, we will definitely return to the Lower East Side Moxy. Moreover, whenever friends travel to NYC, we will suggest staying at the LES Moxy! Thank you for helping to make our big celebration wonderful!!

This hotel may not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. The Moxy brand from Marriott is somewhat inconsistent with some of the locations offering very basic services and other offering a variety of bars, restaurants, etc. The Moxy NYC Lower East Side is part of the group offering more to do. The bars including the rooftop bar and the lobby bar were great and fun. There is also a sushi restaurant and piano bar but I did not try either of these.

The rooms themselves are comfortable but very small. I was traveling solo with a smaller rolling suitcase and there simply was no place to put the luggage. There was a drawer under the bed but if you were to store your luggage there it would be difficult to access. The shower was great and my room had a good view uptown. The windows opened slightly but when you closed them it was very quiet. The hotel also offers a free continental breakfast that is more than satisfactory and there is a cafe if you need more.

The hotel staff are all 1st class and helpful. The hotel charges a $30 destination fee that includes a $30 credit per day at the lobby bar or cafe on the lobby level and a $30 per day laundry credit. At first I was somewhat annoyed, but I was able to use my credits at the bar and get a short laundered.

One last note: this area is up and coming but still a little rough around the edges. I found it totally safe, especially during the day, but you need to be conscious of the area. On the plus side, you have some great food options close by including Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Lower East Side for bagels + lox, knishes, and corned beef sandwiches. It is also a quick 15 minute walk to SoHo and maybe 20 minutes to Greenwich Village.

MOXY LES in one word is superb. I realize the concept isn't for everyone (elevated minimalist approach in the rooms) however I've been a fan of Moxy properties for a while but anytime I return to NYC this location will be where I rest my head. Fanboy for life!! Why, you may ask. It starts at the entrance, with friendly doormen who have a big smile and welcoming energy. However, if you're really lucky you'll get to meet Moses! This guy is so kind, delightful and just has a great energy that is infective. Heading to reception you'll meet a team of professionals, ready to do what they can efficiently and effectively to make your stay memorable. Call out to Bernie for finding a package for me, and the gentlemen (sorry forgot your name) who sorted out my multiple booking. The entire reception, however are consummate professionals. Room was great (yes smallish but it's NYC), but the design elements are top notch. And dang, the bed is comfortable. Finally, I only dined at the Fix; great food (the burger may be smallish but delish) and drinks. Nathalie, Don and Mike were amongst the spectacular team. Special mention to the Highlight Room. Great views, chill vibe for pre-dinner drinks, and a really good happy hour. Thanks Moxy LES

This is our 3rd time staying at the Moxy LES and this stay was made more exceptional because of Jess. From the time we checked in, she stood out because of her bright and welcoming personality along with her willingness to accommodate our requests to ensure our comfort.

Now, for the hotel, we love the location: it’s a short 3 minute walk to the subway station and 10 minute walk from major stores and labels. The atmosphere is lively in the lobby and adjoining areas but you will sleep soundly in the comfortable rooms. We also enjoyed the amenities, like the gym and access to the “Stash Closet” for those last-minute needs. Overall, we enjoy our stay and look forward to many more.

Rooms are small but well-appointed and comfortable. nice lobby and restaurant options. Be aware, Moxy charges $30/night automatically for credit used on site so factor that into you plans.

Bernie at the front desk took great care of me when i showed up earlier than planned. Had a TV issue that was handled in minutes when i called the front desk.

Overall great location, good vibes and the service has been great.

An opportunity to stay here thanks to visiting my nephew, celebrating his graduation from UPenn, with me flying in from London. I did not know this hotel, and was immediately struck by the friendliness of the staff.

This is a well-run, inviting and fresh addition to the neighborhood, and we were lucky enough to have a corner room with glorious views of the City, including Hudson Yards and Midtown. The room was wonderfully quiet, with effective air-conditioning and super-comfortable beds. I also want to mention the incredibly efficient elevators that never kept you waiting for more than a minute or two, even at peak times. All hotels should adopt this system of card presentation, floor selection and then car allocation.

However, the big differentiator is the people. Led by Dillon, for whom nothing is too much trouble, I would like to mention the thoughtful contribution made by Sydney (who found us the gorgeous room) and Victor. Would I stay again? Of course! Thank you Team Moxy LES!

I have never had a worse experience at a Marriott property than I had here.

My room did not have a working shower. I only found this out the morning after arrival when I went to take one… and not a drip of water came out. I called in, they said they’d have an engineer come fix it… while I needed to head off to important buisness meetings unshowered.

I get back that evening, assuming it was fixed… and it still wasn’t working with no communication to me that it wasn’t successfully fixed. They let me use a neighboring room to shower as I didn’t have time before work to pack everything up and move it to a new room. They told me again they could send an engineer us and I said I was unsure how that’d be helpful as they didn’t fix it yesterday.

Finally on the third day I took them up on the offer to change rooms and it too *45* minutes for them to send up a room key to a different room wasting my weekend in New York.

Truly the worst hospitality experience I’ve had in New York.

I can’t recommend staying here and would even recommend the moxy east village was a great stay last time.

Hello MoonRiverRafter, Words can't express how sorry we are to learn of your disappointing stay with us. Not only were the issues you experienced completely unacceptable but how our Crew handled these concerns also showed a lack of care and respect for you as our guest. This will be addressed, and we appreciate your patience. We hope we can have a redo next time you are in the area. Thank you for choosing us during your time in New York, and we wish you all the best. Sincerely, Leo Glazer General Manager

We had a wonderful stay at the Moxy! The location was great and made for a very authentic experience with a ton of local food options. The front desk staff wonderful, and the restaurant and bar offerings on site were pleasant. They even welcome you to the hotel with a glass of champagne. It made kicking off the stay feel that much better!

We initially faced a small hiccup while checking in, but Jess at the front desk was fantastic in addressing our concerns and even followed up with us after check out. You can tell the staff here really cares about the level of service they provide and they are invested in you leaving satisfied. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good hotel and a good time in the city.

Trendy hotel vibe. Great location a few minutes walk from the Soho shopping area, Chinatown, and Little Italy restaurants. Subway station one block away.
Room felt a bit small, but the space was efficiently used and all the essentials were there (safe, full-body mirror, cable TV with 100 channels, plenty of power outlets and lights). Room was clean, and the bed was VERY comfortable. Overall I think it's a great choice for solo travelers and couples.
