800hp 351w.. Which manual Transmission for it?

So what I want to do with my 71' torino 500 is put in a 351w stroked to 408, nice heads, intake, blah blah blah. I'm looking for around 800-850hp. Now i know i want a manual (it's automatic now, and i understand the complications in the conversion) but i just don't know what transmission i want in there. Or what will handle that amount of hp and torque. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Keep in mind that I want a manual... 4,5,6 speed, doesn't matter, just a manual that will handle all that power. Thanks

5 and 6 speeds dont shift like a 4 speed. I sell a lot of 6 speed parts to people who build 800hp transmissions...I cant vouch for their claims...I dont have 800hp to test it on. IF your car hooks and IF it goes straight...and you are building something more pro stock than pro touring...liberty or jerico style. If you want a t56 based unit...theres plenty of guys out there that cater to 1,000 horse vettes and vipers. BUT that is a BIG trans...packaging might be an issue for you, not to mention your car might not be geared correctly to really use all 6 gears efficiently. A lot of people end up using 1-5 or 2-6...albeit without 800+hp.
Theres some crazy toploader guys out there though too. Dont discount the Gear Vendors OD if you have the cake for it

I didn't really get into any detail with my heads, exhaust, intake, etc. becuase i really didn't think it would be important to the fact that all i wanted to know about was my transmission. But, if you must know, no, i dont plan on using NOS, and, yes, i do plan on putting in a turbo, possibly twin turbos depending on how i'm feeling the day i buy them. Also an Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT EFI intake manifold, a pair of victor jr. heads, electronic MSD ingition, and top it off with a pair of Hooker competition headers. Anything else? Of course this is all a wish list and i wont be getting it at least until i leave Afghanistan...

Thank you.

A 4 speed huh? I was thinking about that in the beginning when i knew i wanted a manual, but i never really gave it too much thought. It makes sense. I have heard that a lot of people dont even get up to their final gear when they race. I just looked at the Jerico 4-speed and i think i really like that one. I would like a wide variety so i know i'm getting the best one for my applications though. Anyone have any more sugestions for 4 speeds?
