The Cowsills perform Sunday in Westerly

The Cowsills, one of the biggest musical acts of the 1960s, will perform Sunday in their home state of Rhode Island, at the United Theatre in Westerly.

Distinguished by their harmonies and melodies, siblings Bob, Paul and Susan carry on the touring tradition of The Cowsills playing hits that include: "Hair" (theme from the movie “Hair”), "Indian Lake," "We Can Fly," "Love American Style" (theme song), "The Rain," and "The Park And Other Things." The Newport, R.I., band released five albums for MGM records between 1967 and 1970.

Teen siblings Bill, Bob, Barry, John, Susan, and Paul, in tandem with mom Barbara, were the real-life inspiration behind the TV series "The Partridge Family" and the subject of the documentary "Family Band: The Cowsills Story."

Kara McKee, a Rhode Island-based singer-songwriter, opens. McKee has appeared on “The Voice” and is the daughter of Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee.

The show begins at 6 p.m. Sunday at the United Theatre, 5 Canal St., Westerly. Tickets are $35 and $45; visit www.unitedtheatre.org.
