What a beautiful album to warm your holidays. She has a fantastic overture in the first track of classic Christmas songs and then goes into many wonderful tracks you're sure to enjoy. One of my favorites the Alfred Burt classic "Some Children See Him" is just beautiful as is the second track...a Charlie Brown classic "Christmas Time Is Here." Her voice is beautiful and clear as a bell. Her selection of music was very well selected but only wish there were even more songs on the album. She sings a duet with her famous mother-in-law Rosemary Clooney (White Christmas) which is excellent as well...their voices totally different but compliment each other very nicely. This is an album that will be tops on my list every Christmas season to listen to.

This is a lovely album. Very nostalgic with Rosemary Clooney singing along with Debbie Boone in one song. It is very easy listening and good for all occasions. It is one of my favorite Christmas albums.

Nice Surprise! Kinda Similar To The Female Vocalists Records Of The 50's And 60's
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2009
I really like this and it was a big surprise for me that it would be this great.
It's style pretty much a take of the christmas recordings of the female 'crooner' singers of the past, the 1950's and 1960's, though in a more modern sound. And it's really wonderfully done. DEBBIE BOONE really knows how to sing with the best of them and I'm amazed this isn't a modern day classic christmas recording like, say, DIANA KRALL or HARRY CONNIK JR.. That said, it does have it's own touches with a symphony orchestra backing rather than the typical but very nice easy-listening orchestra backing that many of the classics had so many decades ago. But having this large orchestra that performs really well with lot's of strings and brass is so nice for a modern day recording. There is also a wonderful adult and children's chorus backing DEBBIE BOONE up on this release.
My favorite song is CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE and it may just be my favorite version of the song. Very lush orchestra backing and DEBBIE BOONE sings it with so much power.
The opening track, OVERTURE, is my second favorite track on this cd which is a medley and is an instrumental orchestra verion of. The songs in this medley include CAROL OF THE BELLS and THE CHRISTMAS SONG among several others. Really well done and it is the only instrumental song on the cd.
But all the songs are great on this recording.
Very highly recommended.

I found this Debbie Boone Christmas CD at a thrift store.
In the 1970's, I thought Debbie had a really nice voice. Well I was really surprised listening to this CD for the first time. Excellent! It starts out with a orchestra overture, Debbie singing beautiful songs including her rendition of "Christmas time is here" absolutely lovely. A duet with Rosemary Clooney. Other soft enjoyable Christmas songs as well sung beautifully.
Light a fire, snuggle with your loved one under a throw, enjoy a cup of cocoa and play this CD for a wonderful evening of Christmas.
You will love this album in your Christmas collection.

This album was released several years ago (with a different, but gorgeously photographed cover) and it has become a staple of my personal holiday listening fare.
The arrangements & instrumentation are lush, classic, lovely and have withstood the test of time since they are all of a traditional nature.
Standout tracks include "Christmastime is Here," the stirring "Overture," "White Christmas" - a duet with Ms. Boone's late mother-in-law, Rosemary Clooney and a beautifully sung "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
Debby Boone's touching version of the oft forgotten "Some Children See Him" is also not to be missed.
Christmas is simply not the same for me without Home for Christmas by Debby Boone. Five Stars.

Christmas music is an uneasy genre to define and review. Defined by the season in which it is played rather than by any ordinary considerations of genre, it slips easily into trite sentimentalism and commercial opportunism. The result of the latter is the awkward sound of artists who seem to have little in common with the season performing 'Christmasy' tunes as though outfitted in a too-tight pair of trousers.
Debby Boone does better on HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, but you have to really like Debby Boone if you're going to reallly like this Christmas album.
Highly produced and accompanied, this is Lawrence Welk on Christmas for the late 80's. Boone has a silky-smooth voice, authentic presentation and a remarkable orchestra behind her.
But if you want a little edge, you won't find it here. You'll find easy-listening Christmas staples, well performed and possible to forget in time for the morning of January 2.
Excellent background music for the Christmas holidays that won't rock your world. That's all. But that can be good.

This CD could have been better. The interpretation is O.K. Her voice is nice, but the Christmas spirit is not all that present.

数多あるクリスマスアルバム路線から外れない作品です。ただ、オープニングのオーケストラのインストは不要に感じます
