Ethel was born October 20th, 1928 in Irving, Texas where she lived until she moved to Decatur, Texas in the mid-1980's. Ethel was the youngest of 4 children of James Allen Redmon & Mary Jane Farine Redmon. Ethel had one son, Christopher Lee Redmon (spouse Donna) whom she lovingly lived with for almost 27 years; first in Houston, Texas and most recently in Lakeside, Texas.
She started out life as a farmer - growing iris and crops on the family farm, while also working at the family "Wheel-In Grocery" store and Sinclair gas station off North O'Connor Road in Irving. She also spent many years working at the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Irving Bank and Trust, and later at Walmart in Decatur.
Ethel loved gardening, bird watching, and collecting rocks for her ever growing rock garden. She was an avid family genealogist who took pride in her well documented "family tree". She could easily recall a treasure trove of stories and interesting facts she had gathered over the years. Ethel was a loving sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family. She never met a stranger and always had love and kindness for everyone she came across.
Ethel was preceded in death by her mother and father, and brothers Marvin Allen Redmon, Sr., James Harlin Redmon and her sister Mary Lou Redmon Taylor. She is also survived by her son, grandchildren Amy Lynne Redmon Sim (spouse Brandon), Morgan Elizabeth Redmon Scheffel (spouse Jeremy), Nathaniel Christopher Redmon & Jordan Marie Redmon and great grandchildren William Henry Craig Sim, III and Charlotte Evelyn Sim and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
